can i say dumb, dumb, dumb?

the story was a good teenage (YA) story. was turning into a good mystery, but why was it a mystery? what happened to the Vanessa’s sister could very well have been the truth. the sister wasn’t afraid of anything, did almost the same exact thing the night before, so why wouldn’t she have done it this one particular time…the time that starts the mystery?

but in a way, the story was okay until 3/4 of the way through it, then it turned into mush. and i don’t mean lovey, dovey mush. i mean, it turned my brain to mush…

where were the details about Vanessa feeling different than the rest of her family? previous details would have helped the story play out better.

the story takes place by the water and it’s called “Siren”, so you know what it’s going to include…but it never pans out right. it’s missing a few too many moments and details, and includes some that don’t make sense or play any part of the story. come on, a paranormal or urban fantasy of mermaids, it can happen. now i just need to find the book that makes it happen, because this one was not it.

i feel like i wasted 2 weeks of my life waiting for the book to come out so i could read it. amazon should not have included this book on the same page as other books i have liked.

another jot list of thoughts:
I totally love it.
Urban Fantasy, not erotic.
Shifters, vampires, fae.
Totally different than any other series I’ve ever read in this genre.
Very deep for the style, I think.
Twists I hadn’t expected show up, too.

More like the shifter series by Rachel Vincent (imo)

Impatiently awaiting the next book in the series…

another jot list of thoughts:

good book – I stayed up 3
nights in a row til 2 am to read it.
YA type book I think, no sex,
nothing like that.
no vamps either
girl goes to a reform school type
place – starts to kinda fall for 2 guys – but a deeper level of story than a
YA/high school story. In the end, the triangle of people move heaven and hell
for what they believe in. literally.
it’s slow moving in a way, but not
so much that i was bored at all. you can kinda figure it out ahead of time, but
it’s one where you have to see how it all falls into place.
i wouldn’t say it’ll be on my fave
books list, but definitely one i’d recommend for something different to read.
